ROB FIELDS
One of the best soldiers in the naval special warfare community, Rob Fields (42) is a hard man. When faced with obstacles in his life, no matter how daunting, he has overcome them by sheer force of will.
​
The truth is, Rob is a more sensitive and complex human being that he can afford to admit. For the first time in his life, he has encountered an obstacle - the death of his son, Tim, and the paralysis of his son, Bobby - that he cannot will his way through.
​
His pain and guilt, for not being there for his sons when they needed him most, is destroying him. At the opening of season one, Rob retires from the Navy to attend to his son, Bobby. He finally has time for peace.
​
That is until he's called back into action to eradicate an enemy who threatens to destroy the planet. But Rob will have to fight on unfamiliar ground, a virtual world, where the rules are different than he's accustomed to.

ROB'S WORLD
LYZ RAMOS
To the casual observer, Lyz Ramos (29) is switched on. She has a peaceful and steady demeanor. She's wrapping up her PhD. She has a good job with the leading gaming company in the world. And she's a candidate for the President's Council on Immersive Reality with Applications in Medicine.
But Lyz has a problem standing up for herself. She's been passed up for promotion despite exceptional performance. She's given lip service each time she asks her company's CEO for a recommendation letter to accompany her President's Council application.
Rob Fields is no ordinary observer, however, and he sees that there's an 'ass kicker' inside of her that she apparently doesn't see herself.

By mid season one, we slowly learn that there is, indeed, much more to Lyz Ramos (LYRA) than meets the eye. She's one of the biggest ass-kickers in the history of the world; a history that goes way back. But one question remains. Has she been kicking ass for good, or for evil?

BOBBY FIELDS
To say Bobby Fields (13) is beyond his years would be a colossal understatement. Intellectually and emotionally, Bobby operates at a much higher level than most people on the planet.
​
While left a quadriplegic from a tragic accident, Bobby's mind remains sharp and his bright spirit undaunted. He spends most of his time building beautiful virtual worlds where he peacefully exists like Lau Tzu and the great sages of old.
​
Like most highly evolved people, Bobby is a truth seeker. He is deeply disturbed by mankind's current trajectory, especially the dehumanization of our children. He saw, first-hand, the challenges facing today's youth and their soul crushing effects, by observing his brother, Tim.
​
Still waters run deep, and what we see of Bobby in the first half of season one is nothing but the sun reflecting off the surface. This little Buddha has a significant role to play in our story in the second half of season one, and well beyond.

BOBBY'S WORLD
DESEAN
Having grown up poverty-stricken in Baltimore, every day of DeSean's (15) life has been a battle for survival. His older brother, a conscripted courier for a drug dealer, was killed. His mother checked out emotionally following the loss of her eldest son. DeSean never knew is father.
​
Despite everything stacked against him, DeSean has aspirations for a better life. And he has the smarts and the discipline to get it.
​
Unfortunately, gang members are far more likely to shoot down a rising star than watch him ascend. DeSean is being targeted by the same drug dealer who killed his brother.
​
So, when the invitation from Sentinel Games comes to participate in the Battle Royale, he's more than eager to embrace it. But teamwork is a notion that doesn't come easily to a kid who's always had to look out for number one. Despite his big heart and good intentions, it's hard for him to gel with the other Red Team members.

CHEN
Highly stylized, arrogant and selfish, Chen (17) is a professional gamer with a quick wit and sharp tongue. While he looks and acts like a prima donna from a Korean boy band, Chen hails from China.
OLIVIA
Originally from Sheffield, England, Olivia (16) is a down-to-earth girl who feels the pressure to live up to her parents' expectations and those of the wealthy, beautiful and social media worshipping crowd she's thrown into in London.
MARIA
Maria (15) is a social outcast from a working class family in France. Her mother is an abusive alcoholic and both her father and older sister abandoned the oppressive environment at first opportunity,
YOSHI
Yoshi (17) grew up in rural Japan, under the yolk of demanding parents. At age twelve, Yoshi was whisked away from his home by a leading game developer and thrown into their draconian training program.
ADMIRAL BRICE
Leader of Naval Special Warfare Group One, Admiral Brice (52) has seen and done everything on the tactical battlefield, and in the strategic command center. He's a pragmatist and an inspiring leader. He is also the father of two teenaged boys who are avid video gamers.
​
Stationed at the Navy base in Coronado, California, Brice has worked closely with Rob over the course of many years. The two men have a deep respect for each other.
​
When mysterious nuclear-sized energy pulses begin to spike at random locations around the world, the Admiral is called in to investigate. His task force can never pin down the elusive energy bursts, however, which prompts him to enlist the help of a quantum physicist. The academic introduces him to the mind-blowing potential of the Quantum Field.
​
Eventually, Brice and his task force will collide with Rob and the gamers in their quest to defeat The Citizen, the man who is intent on bringing the world to its knees.
